PAULDING — Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative asked its members to conserve electricity this afternoon, as the electric provider issued a peak alert.
Warmer temperatures and the load forecast left the cooperative with the peak alert from 2 to 8 p.m. It expected a very high demand for electricity. Temperatures are expected to reach 85 degrees, with a possible thunderstorm in the afternoon today.
It asked people to conserve energy to help keep power costs down. The group suggested turning air conditioning thermostates up 3 to 5 degrees and delay and baking or laundry.
