LIMA — Kurt Swygart, of Lima, recently received the General Billy Mitchell award by the GLR-OH-114 of the Civil Air Patrol U.S. Air Force Auxiliary. Swygart, a Shawnee High School graduate and St. Charles Eagle Scout, is a senior at The Ohio State University studying Social Sciences Air Transportation with a professional pilot specialization.

BLUFFTON — Citizens National Bank has named Lauren Beasley as their newest Mortgage Loan Originator in their Bluffton office. In this role she will facilitate mortgage, home equity and other retail loan applications. COLUMBUS — Craig Pohlman of Venedocia has been elected to his second three-year term on the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation board of trustees representing Farm Bureau members in Allen, Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert counties. As one of Ohio Farm Bureau’s 26 trustees, he will help govern the state’s largest and most inclusive farm and food organization.

LIMA — An Allen County jury deliberated for five hours over a span of two days before returning verdicts of not guilty on rape and kidnapping charges against a Lima man Friday.

LIMA — Health officials are asking the public to take precautions ahead of the holidays to avoid prolonged illness and absences from school or work amid a resurgence of flu, COVID and other respiratory and stomach-virus infections in the Lima area.

LIMA — A new program was kicked off at Heritage Elementary School on Friday. “Here On Time” will reward students who are at school on time. Each students will receive a ticket each day they are at school on time. Each HOT (Here On Time) ticket will be placed in a drawing for a bag of hot chips donated by Corey Frazer State Farm.
