BLUFFTON — The Bluffton Presbyterian Church invites Bluffton area residents to ride their bikes to its regular worship service starting at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, July 17 at 112 N. Main St., Bluffton.

LIMA — Activate Allen County will host a free, family-friendly Community Block Party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16 at the South Jackson Community Garden, 200 S. Jackson St., Lima.

OTTAWA — Riley Creek United Methodist Church will host a game night starting at 6 p.m. Friday, July 15 at the church, southeast of Ottawa and northwest of Pandora at the intersection of Putnam County Roads M and 7-L (7102 County Road M, Ottawa), across from Ottawa National Lime & Stone Company.

BLUFFTON — The Take Off Pounds Sensibly club will meet starting at 5:30 p.m. with a weigh-in and 6:30 p.m. for the meeting on Tuesdays on the lower level of St. John’s United Church of Christ, 223 W. College Ave., Bluffton.

LIMA — Mayor Sharetta Smith accepted an award Monday evening on behalf of the Lima Police Department from the State of Ohio’s Law Enforcement Body Armor Program. According to the Attorney General’s website, Allen County has received $69,499.17. With the approval of this ordinance, the City of Lima will receive $31,185.00.

LIMA — Guiding Light Ministries is opening its third crisis shelter for women in Lima. The new home, which will be called Anchor, will be located at 1315 North West Street and will be a place for healing and restoration for women in need.

LIMA — Lima Senior was one of 16 schools selected for support from Airgas. Airgas will provide approximately $10,000 in material donations as well as educational support throughout the coming school year. Airgas associates will work alongside teachers and school officials to provide a comprehensive welding training program, preparing students for successful careers in the welding industry.

KENTON — The Hardin County Astronomy Club will host a “First Light” viewing event to celebrate that day’s unveiling of the first images captured by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 in the Veterans Meeting Hall at the courthouse, 1 Courthouse Square #120, Kenton.

LIMA — The Lima Astronomical Society will open Schoonover Observatory to the public for its Webb Space Telescope First Light Event at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 12 at Schoonover Park, 670 N. Jefferson St., Lima.

CELINA — The death of a Celina motorist following a Monday morning traffic crash is believed to have stemmed from a medical emergency, authorities said.
