LIMA — Mayor Sharetta Smith accepted an award Monday evening on behalf of the Lima Police Department from the State of Ohio’s Law Enforcement Body Armor Program. According to the Attorney General’s website, Allen County has received $69,499.17. With the approval of this ordinance, the City of Lima will receive $31,185.00.

Anchor: A new home for women

LIMA — Guiding Light Ministries is opening its third crisis shelter for women in Lima. The new home, which will be called Anchor, will be located at 1315 North West Street and will be a place for healing and restoration for women in need.

Airgas donates to Lima Senior

LIMA — Lima Senior was one of 16 schools selected for support from Airgas. Airgas will provide approximately $10,000 in material donations as well as educational support throughout the coming school year. Airgas associates will work alongside teachers and school officials to provide a comprehensive welding training program, preparing students for successful careers in the welding industry.
