LIMA — Kurt Swygart, of Lima, recently received the General Billy Mitchell award by the GLR-OH-114 of the Civil Air Patrol U.S. Air Force Auxiliary. Swygart, a Shawnee High School graduate and St. Charles Eagle Scout, is a senior at The Ohio State University studying Social Sciences Air Transportation with a professional pilot specialization.

COLUMBUS — Craig Pohlman of Venedocia has been elected to his second three-year term on the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation board of trustees representing Farm Bureau members in Allen, Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert counties. As one of Ohio Farm Bureau’s 26 trustees, he will help govern the state’s largest and most inclusive farm and food organization.

LIMA — An Allen County jury deliberated for five hours over a span of two days before returning verdicts of not guilty on rape and kidnapping charges against a Lima man Friday.
