Fertilizer certification program offered by OSU Extension

BOTKINS — The Ohio State University Extension is hosting a fertilizer certification program from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Palazzo, 309 S. Main St., Botkins. RSVP by Aug. 23 to the Auglaize County Extension office 419-739-6580.

There will be a day session from 2-5 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Palazzo for those that cannot attend the evening session. RSVP is also required by Aug. 23. A dinner will be held between the day session and evening session.

In 2014 the Ohio Legislature passed a law requiring individuals that apply fertilizer to 50 or more acres to be certified. The deadline for this certification is Sept. 30. If certification is not received before Sept. 30, an exam must be taken and there may be a fee for future classes.
