LIMA — Live, local music and performances, a silent auction and a first look at the new season are all planned as part of the Civic Center Foundation’s upcoming 2022-2023 Season Reveal Gala on Tuesday, May 17 the at the Exhibit Hall in Veterans Memorial Civic Center, 7 Town Square, Lima.
“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Abe Ambroza, CEO of the Civic Center. “The theme this year is a fancy yacht party.”
The doors will open at 5 p.m., and the event will begin with one hour of live music featuring local artists.
“The Civic Center Gala is a fantastic event because it embodies the exact reason why the Civic Center was built — to showcase the best talent in our region and also promote the venue where touring shows and top headlining artists have a concert hall that can bring in the best entertainment for our audiences,” said Chad Stearns, board president for Downtown Lima Inc. “Our goal with the Gala is to build excitement for the upcoming season and to celebrate the success the Civic Center boards have accomplished these past few years. It’s going to be an evening of celebration and entertainment for everyone.”
The event is open to the public, with up to 500 seats available. Tickets prices $30 for individual seats or $300 for a table of eight. The dress attire is “summer best.”
Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served. For adults over 21, there will be a cash bar with select alcohol and signature drinks as well as a VIP Bourbon Lounge for an additional $25 which includes 6 tastings of bourbon.

It’s a chance to highlight Lima’s talent, said performer Karin Dorsey.
“We have so many talented individuals in our area in so many forms,” Dorsey said. “It’s fantastic to be able to show people what we have right here in our small town. Be proud.”
Beginning at 6 p.m., Ambroza and both boards will speak to the group, and a video will wrap up last year’s events.
Raffle prizes will include a Fender guitar autographed by legendary rock and blues guitarist Buddy Guy, who performed at the Civic Center in October; an acoustic guitar autographed by every artist who appeared last season on the Civic Center’s stage, a Chicago theater weekend trip, a bourbon basket and a wine basket.
Near the end of the program, all of the shows for the Civic Center’s 2022-2023 season will be revealed.
