Muscle Mart opens in Lima

LIMA — With a ribbon cutting, Muscle Mart opened its doors Thursday to those health-conscious individuals in the Lima region.

The store, at 911 Cable Road, sells a wide variety of protein, pre-workout, amino acids, multivitamins and other generally healthy products. Typically, there is a little push towards the athlete.

Owner Jonathan Fruchey has been weight training for 10 to 11 years. The nutrition stores he likes are out of the area.

“I don’t like going in to big brand stores where they try to sell you something but don’t work out themselves,” Fruchey said. “I really enjoy talking to people about this stuff .”

Fruchey said he believed COVID taught people that if they were a bit healthier when they get sick, they might be able to kick it easier.

“I think that’s the big one because we’re all going to get sick with the flu or the cold, whatever,” Fruchey said. “We all get sick with something. But if you’re healthier and more active, you can deal with the situations easier.”
