Massage therapist focuses on the individual

LIMA — A ribbon cutting was held Thursday, February 10, courtesy of the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce for Alexandria Hickman, Licensed Massage Therapist, located at 220 W. Market Street Suite 104 in downtown Lima.

Hickman provides massage as holistic healing for relaxation, post-surgical, mental health, and sports recovery. She graduated from the Dayton School of Medical Massage in September of 2021. Since then she has been helping a variety of clients in and around the Lima area.

Hickman’s desire is to bring options to people in search of health and wellness who have maybe tried the traditional route with little to no success. Massages are usually 50- to 90-minute sessions based on client needs and range in price from $50 to $90. Cash or credit cards are accepted and gift certificates are available.

Hickman is available by appointment only, however, same-day appointments are possible. Hickman shared her reasons for starting her business: “I think treatment is individualized per client I want to be able to give everybody an individual treatment, a very personal treatment. And I just wanted to be my own boss.”

Hickman’s journey has come full circle. She related, “I was actually a barista supervisor at The Meeting Place for years. I left and got my license. I came back to actually talk to Jen Brogee about taxes. She offered me the space here and I couldn’t be happier.”

Hickman is licensed through the Ohio State Medical Board. She can work with doctors and chiropractors. She offers massages from 10 a.m. to 6 pm.
