LimaMaxine L. Collins, 96, died at 10:05 a.m. May 17, 2011, at Lima Convalescent Home.She was born May 1, 1915, in Lima to James Washington and Gladys Cully Case, who preceded her in death. On July 21, 1938, she married William Lee Collins, who died Dec. 21, 1989.Mrs. Collins had been a member of First United Brethren Church. She had worked in the cafeteria of Lima City Schools for several years. She liked The Ohio State University Buckeyes, the San Antonio Spurs and the Lima Senior Spartans. She loved to plant flowers, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Survivors include three daughters, Joyce (Larry) Barker, of Lima, Jennie (Arthur) Cheek, of Palmetto, Fla., and Jo Ellen Collins, of Lima; three grandchildren, Lori (Derek) Lisaula, of Elyria, Lisa (Frank) Ketron, of Melbourne, Ky., and Audra Cheek, of Columbus; four great-grandchildren, Maresa Lisaula, Dominic Lisaula, Brayden Ketron and Landen Ketron; and a sister, Phyllis Pollock, of Lima.She was preceded in death by five brothers, Russell, Chester, Paul, Robert and Ralph Case; and two sisters, Effie Yinger and Jenese Hollar.Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard Allison will officiate.
