DelphosCharles A. Rohrbacher, 77, died at 12:15 p.m. Dec. 13, 2011, at VanCrest Healthcare Center, Delphos.He was born Nov. 13, 1934, in Lima to Albert L. and Chloe Evick Rison Rohrbacher, who preceded him in death. He married Gwen Frericks Fischer, who survives in Delphos.Mr. Rohrbacher retired as a design engineer from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant after 27 years. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. He was an avid antique collector and dealer and loved to go to auctions. He was a fan of the Delphos St. John’s Blue Jays and The Ohio State University Buckeyes.Survivors also include a son, Charles A. Rohrbacher, of Delphos; three daughters, Suzi (Jim) Bechtel, of Goshen, Ind., Sheryl (Don) Quan, of Canton, Mich., and Sharla (Brian) LaVelle, of Columbus, Ind.; two sisters, Joy (Charley) Carr, of Gautier, Miss., and Josephine (Lewis) Neff, of Lima; a brother, Jay L. Rohrbacher, of Lauderhill, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Nikia, Mikai and Kirei Quan and Emma, Samual, Benjamin and Chloe LaVelle; two stepgrandchildren, Jamie Bechtel and Randy (Christina) Bechtel; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Amy and Jacob Bechtel; and a first cousin, Sister Susan Morris, of South Boston, Mass.He was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Rison; and a daughter, Sharyn Rohrbacher.Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Father Melvin Verhoff will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos, with military rites by the Delphos Veterans Council.Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphos St. John’s Teacher Endowment Fund or the American Cancer Society.
