Hughes, Reinicke, Young named to Hall of Fame

LIMA — Former Shawnee Country Club pro Bill Hughes, longtime coach Dan Reinicke and club pro and owner Floyd Young are the newest members of the Lima-Allen County Golf Hall of Fame.

Hughes was also owner of Country Acres Golf Course and chaired the Lima Junior Golf Association. He is currently general manager of TPC Sawgrass in Ponta Vedra Beach, Fla.

Reinicke was the first Lima Central Catholic High School girls golf coach and coached five consecutive teams which went to the state tournament. The Thunderbirds had an overall record of 778-168. He later became the first women’s golf coach at the University of Northwestern Ohio.

Young is the owner and operator of the Bluffton Golf Club and Hidden Creek Golf Club. He played as a touring pro from 1969-70. He caddied for Jack Nicklaus during his 1971 PGA victory.
