FORT JENNINGS — Helen M. Barnes, of Fort Jennings, will celebrate her 90th birthday June 25, 2015. She will be attending a Detroit Tigers game with her family on her birthday.

She was born June 25, 1925, in Columbus Grove, to Jacob and Selina Schaad. Her parents are recognized on the American Immigrant Wall of Honor, Ellis Island, New York. On Nov. 6, 1943, she married Richard M. Barnes, and he died March 28, 1994.

Barnes has four children, Jim (Trisha) Barnes, of Venedocia, Terry (Jerry) Clark, of Wapakoneta, Susan Feathers, of Fort Jennings and Dana (Trish) Barnes, of Longview, Texas. She has eight grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

She is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, in Delphos.

Barnes works at Meijer as a greeter. She has employed at Meijer 20 years as of January 2015.

She is an avid sports fan of the Detroit Tigers, Chicago Blackhawks and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
