UNOH women’s season ends in WHAC quarterfinals

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Late in the first half, the University of Northwestern Ohio women’s basketball team tied its Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference quarterfinal against Cornerstone University at 23-23. From that point forward, the game was dominated by Cornerstone.

UNOH (16-15) scored only seven points in the first 11:01 of the second half, sealing the Racers; fate in a WHAC quarterfinal loss at Cornerstone University (22-9), 71-42.

Lauren Hopfner was the only Racer to score in double-figures, scoring 10 points. Natalie Billing and Becca Harshman shared the team lead in rebounds with seven, and Shakeia Salters picked up four assists.

CINCINNATI — Octavious Ellis scored a career-high 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds to help Cincinnati (19-9, 10-5 American) beat UCF (12-14, 5-11).

Dayton 76, George Mason 63

DAYTON — Jordan Sibert scored 24 points, Kendall Pollard chipped in 16 and Dayton (21-6, 11-4 Atlantic 10) rolled to a victory over George Mason (8-19, 3-12) for its 20th straight home win.

Northern Illinois 84, Toledo 82

TOLDEO — Travon Baker scored 18 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer in the final minute, as Northern Illinois (11-15, 5-10 Mid-American Conference) edged Toledo (18-10, 10-5), snapping a three-game slide.

Oakland 82, Youngstown State 71

ROCHESTER, Mich. — Kahlil Felder scored 20 points with 10 assists and five rebounds as Oakland (16-14, 11-4 Horizon) beat Youngstown State (11-19, 2-13).
