Nutrition Club coming to Lima

LIMA — After losing more than 30 pounds through a nutrition program, Tiffany Phillips figured that if she could do it, she could teach others to as well.

As a result, the Indian Lake resident is now opening a nutrition club in Lima.

Family Nutrition, soon to be located at 311 N. Elizabeth St., will offer customers fitness classes for all levels, cardio drumming, a smoothie bar and other Herbalife products.

Phillips is planning for it to open March 16, she said.

“We’re not just about health and fitness. We provide something for everyone in the family,” Phillips said.

The club plans to offer kids’ drinks as well as childcare during fitness classes, said Phillips, who can relate to not being able to work out due to the difficulty of finding childcare for her five children.

As a mother, Phillips wants to help other mothers get healthy.

“Being a mom of five, anyone can imagine how tired I am,” she said. “I had no energy level before I started Herbalife. Just the energy you get … it is amazing.”

Phillips chose Lima because it’s not something available in the community now, she said.

“There’s nobody that actually offers healthy meals,” she said.

Family Nutrition offers meal-replacement smoothies, with “everything you need in a full serving,” Phillips said.

The club will also offer a free wellness profile, which provides Phillips and another Family Nutrition coach, Josh Winhoven, with 11 numbers to use for a nutrition plan.

Free wi-fi will be available at the club so people can come and chat or work while they have their lunch, Phillips said.

The club will be open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, with hours subject to change due to demand.

Phillips and Winhoven are offering previews of the club by appointment only. For more information about the club, those interested can call Phillips at 419-371-7328 or Winhoven at 419-953-1239.

“My goal with bringing the club to Lima is to spread the word definitely against obesity because it is spreading all over the United States,” Phillips said. “So if we can start by going one city at a time, one person at a time to help break that obesity and bring out the awareness of it, it’s really important to me, especially with the kids.”
