LIMA — Bernice “Bernie” Dunn, of Lima celebrated her 90th birthday Feb. 21, 2015.
She was born Feb. 21, 1925 to Jesse and Goldie Place. On Oct. 30, 1943, she married Ralph Dunn, and he died in January of 1996.
Dunn has four children, nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. One great-grandchild is deceased.
She has one sister, Maxine, who lives in Fort Wayne, IN and they like to get together and talk about the “good times.”
Dunn is an active member of the Spencerville Nazarene Church. She loves gospel music and has served as their pianist for the past nine years.
She can usually be found in her kitchen baking cookies, sheet cakes, candy and cinnamon rolls, which she likes to surprise special people with her “goodies.” You can also find them in the freezer at just about any time you go to her house.
Dunn loves doing crafts and sewing. Her specialty is the fleece blankets that all of her children and grandchildren have enjoyed over the years.
