COLUMBUS GROVE — The Plymouth Belvedere was produced from 1954 to 1970. This model was introduced in response to the 1950 Chevy Bel Air, the first two-door hardtop in the low-priced auto market. The 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II came in five body styles, 2 door hardtop, convertible, 4 door sedan and 6 and 9 passenger station wagons. During this 1965 model year, the Belvedere name was no longer used as a level of trim designation. It was now the intermediate size vehicle. The 1968 television show, Adam-12 featured a 1967 model black and white Belvedere as the Los Angeles police cruiser.
Lois and Gary Bratz, of Columbus Grove, brought their 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II to The Lima News’ Real Wheels Cruise-In. They have owned it for 24 years. This was the car Gary owned when they got married in 1967.
