Spartans get win No. 17 at Mansfield Senior

Lima Senior broke out of a 39-39 halftime tie to take an 88-73 boys basketball win at Mansfield Senior on Monday night.

Xavier Simpson (18 points) and Elijah Pughsley (16 points) led six Spartans who scored in double figures. Jaylin Thomas had 14 points, Jarius Ward had 11 points and Marquevious Wilson and Rico Stafford each scored 10.

Naradain James led Mansfield Senior with 21 points. Asante Wilder had 17 points and David Hall scored 16.

Lima Senior is 17-3. Mansfield Senior’s record is 14-7.

Spencerville 66, New Bremen 61

Jacob Meyer scored 13 points and hit three 3-pointers for the Bearcats (13-5). Zach Goecke, Bailey Croft and Damien Corso all scored 12 points.

Carson Manger (21 points) and Deion Hoehne (17 points) led New Bremen (12-10).

Perry 45, Botkins 38

Xavier Monford scored 14 points to lead the Commodores to their 16th win in 20 games this season.

Arlington 39, Fort Jennings 37

Aaron Starr’s 12 points led Arlington and Matt Glick scored 10 points. For Fort Jennings, Alex Berelsman scored 11 points.

Jackson Center 61, Temple Christian 26

Jackson Center’s defense frustrated the Pioneers’ offense and the Tigers hit eight 3-pointers.

Drew Sosby scored 15 points and Gavin Wildermuth had 14 points for Jackson Center and combined for seven of their team’s eight 3-pointers.

Jackson Center is 15-5 this season and Temple Christian is 9-11.

Upper Scioto Valley 74, Cory-Rawson 58

Cameron Parker (29 points and 15 rebounds) and Lane Hurley (22 points, 8 rebounds) led USV. Cory-Rawson’s Matt Alspach had 37 points.

Elida 66, Delphos Jefferson 58

Upper Scioto Valley 52, New Knoxville 50

Emily Patton scored 28 points and Shelby Spradlin had 15 points for USV. Meg Reineke’s 18 points led New Knoxville.
