Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts; “Minerals and Their Properties and Important Ohio Rocks” presentation at Wapakoneta Middle School, 9:29 to 10:55 a.m. Thursday, and 11:38 a.m. to 1:04 p.m. Friday; “Cooking with Brett” series noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Student Services Center; and DREAM Program for underrepresented high school seniors from Allen County and their parents meets for its third of four events 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Student Services Center.
Ohio Northern University: Carey Smith, president of Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc., will be the featured speaker for the Ohio Northern University Spotts Lecture in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23; ONU students will offer free electronic tax filing (e-filing) services at the Dicke College of Business Administration (Room 140), 525 S. Main Street, Ada, from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through April 9 (excluding March 3to 5 and April 2). Appointments are available but not required. Bluffton University: Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band annual winter instrumental concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, in Yoder Recital Hall; and Heather Bruder, an assistant professor of sport management, will address her doctoral dissertation topic — leadership in intercollegiate athletic departments — in a Bluffton colloquium at 4 p.m. Friday, in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall.
Scholarships
Bluffton: Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, Bluffton, is accepting applications for the Barbara Fleming Memorial Nursing Scholarship. The scholarship is to be used to pay school-related expenses. The scholarship offers a minimum award of $500, and will be paid directly to the vocational school or college where the student is enrolled.
