Armed man barricades himself in Findlay apartment

FINDLAY — A man barricaded himself inside an apartment for nearly seven hours before police officer eventually convinced him to come out.

At 7:26 p.m. Saturday at 230 Washington St., Findlay Police Department officers arrived and located a man with a gun.

The man entered an apartment building when officers arrived and barricaded himself inside the apartment.

The man was barricaded in the apartment until 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The Findlay Police Department Crisis Management Team handled the barricaded man, according to Findlay Police Department officials.

Michael J. Bennett, 23, was arrested and charged with inducing panic. He was being held in Hancock County Justice Center.

There were no reported injuries. A handgun and ammunition were recovered inside the residence.
