Ohio Northern eliminated from OAC tourney

ALLIANCE — Ohio Northern got off to a slow start and was not able to recover in a 101-82 loss at Mount Union on Tuesday night in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Center.

The sixth-seeded Polar Bears ended their season at 12-14 overall, while the third-seeded Purple Raiders improved to 20-6.

Senior Lucas Pennington led the Polar Bears with 21 points, senior Isaiah Roux had 10 points, sophomore Konnor Baker, an Ada grad, added 10 points and senior Jordan Martin chipped in nine points.

Miami (Ohio) 86, Kent State 81, OT

OXFORD — Eric Washington tied his career high with 24 points — including seven in overtime — as Miami (12-16, 7-8 Mid-American Conference) capped a 19-point rally to force OT and went on to defeat conference-leading Kent State (19-9, 10-5).

Buffalo 67, Akron 62.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Justin Moss scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Buffalo (18-9, 9-6 MAC) past Akron (17-11, 8-7).

Elida grad Reggie McAdams had an assist in seven minutes of playing time.

Bowling Green 76, Ohio 65

ATHENS, Ohio — Spencer Parker had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Bowling Green (18-8, 10-5 Mid-American) to a victory over Ohio (9-17, 4-11).
