Temple Christian’s Landon Callahan and Brody Bowman came away with first-place finishes during Elks District Hoop Shoot Competition held Jan. 11 at the University of Findlay’s Croy Gymnasium.
Callahan made 20 of 25 shots and 5 of 5 in a shoot off in the boys ages 8-9 division. 12-13 Boys – Bowman connected on 24 of 25 shots in boys 12-13.
The duo will next compete at the state competition Feb. 14 in Gahanna.
Other area competitors and their finishes included
Heidi Keller of Spencerville made 19 of 25 and 3 of 5 in a shoot off, placing her 2nd 8-9 girls, Lydia Falke of Spencerville made 12 of 25, placing her 3rd, Kayla White of Bluffton made 17 of 25 for fourth and Eli Harter of Spencerville connected on 17 of 25 and 4 of 5, 2 of 5 and 3 of 5 in shoot offs to finish third in 10-11 Boys.
