Gas prices up in region

LIMA — Gas prices were up 6.9 cents compared to last week in Allen County, according to prices reported on GasBuddy.com.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $1.99 on Monday morning, according to the website. While it’s up from last week, it’s still down 20.4 cents from last month and down $1.16 from last year.

Prices were lower in all surrounding counties, including Hardin County ($1.85 per gallon average), Van Wert County ($1.90), Auglaize County ($1.91) and Putnam County ($1.96).

All of those are below the statewide average, which rose 2.2 cents to $1.99 per gallon. That’s 31.1 cents lower than last month and down $1.30 from last year’s average.

The average price in the nation was $2.05, down 6.7 cents from last week, down 42.2 cents from last month and down $1.25 from last year.
