Preschool receives five stars

Continental and Leipsic Early Discovery Preschool programs, operated through the Putnam County Educational Service Center, received a Five-Star Step Up To Quality Award from the state of Ohio. This is the highest rating given to preschool programs.

Step Up To Quality is a rating system for learning and development programs.

APPOINTMENTS

Allen appointed vice president

First Federal Bank has appointed Gregory R. Allen as executive vice president, community banking president of First Federal Bank.

Allen is responsible for leading the sales and business development activities throughout First Federal Bank’s footprint, with a focus on building lending relationships with consumer and commercial customers. He oversees retail, commercial and wealth management divisions and the development and delivery of all bank products and services.

Allen has been with Fist Federal Bank for more than 16 years.

PROMOTIONS

Patrol’s Grigsby promoted

Sgt. Timothy P. Grigsby was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on Jan. 13 by Colonel Paul A. Pride, Patrol superintendent. Lt. Grigsby will transfer from his current assignment at the Lima Post to serve as post commander of the Van Wert Post.

Grigsby began his career with the patrol in June 2005. He earned his commission in January the following year and was assigned to the Lima Post, where he was selected as Post Trooper of the Year in 2009 and 2010.

While at the Lima Post, he also earned the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement in 2007 and 2009. In 2011, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to the Van Wert Post to serve as an assistant post commander.

In 2012, he returned to his most recent assignment at the Lima Post.

Alexander joins Grover Rutter

Grover Rutter Mergers, Acquisitions and Valuations is pleased to announce the addition of Chris Alexander to the team. Alexander will serve as a senior advisor for business owners seeking assistance in the sale or valuation of businesses with annual revenues of $1 to $30 million.

He is a graduate of Miami University and The Ohio State University graduate school. He has nearly 20 years experience in the commercial banking industry.

ACCREDITATION

St. Rita’s awarded accreditation

St. Rita’s Medical Center has been accredited for a period of three years for its Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs including its Stroke Specialty Program for adults. This accreditation will extend through November 2017.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities standards. To receive this accreditation, St. Rita’s Medical Center Inpatient Rehabilitation Program underwent a peer review process including ongoing consultation and on-site reviews.

OTHER RECOGNITION

Shook Touchstone receives building project

Shook Touchstone has been awarded by the Ohio School Facilities Construction Commission the Liberty Center School District K-12 building project. The new 151,388-square foot academic facility will house grades kindergarten through 12th grade and also include a career technology facility for students.

Architect firm Garmann/Miller & Associates will oversee the project design in conjunction with the school district.
