SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The Shawnee Township Police department investigated a hit-skip accident at 5:35 p.m. Monday.
According to the report, an unnamed driver was involved in an accident at the corner of Eastown Road and state Route 117 and then fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The driver then entered the Berryman addition where it crashed at the corner of Adgate Road and Crayton Avenue. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
The Lima Police department was called to assist with a canine unit in hopes of tracking down the driver, but he was not located. The Shawnee Township Police Department said information of who the vehicle was registered to or other information was not being released while the investigation was being completed.
