2002 Chevy Corvette Coupe

LIMA —The Chevy Corvette has endured more than 60 years in production. No other car can come close to this reputation of Chevrolet’s two-seat sports car. GM designer Harley Earl was inspired by European sports cars and wanted to create an American sports car that could compete and win at the race track. He succeeded with the Corvette. The name Corvette was borrowed from a line of small, fast navy ships used in World War II. The 2002 Chevy sales brochure pretty much sums up how America feels about Chevy’s Corvette, “2002 Chevy Corvette, the only sports car that matters.”

Richie and Judy Crouch, of Lima, brought their 2002 Chevy Corvette Coupe to The Lima News’ Real Wheels Cruise-In. Crouch purchased this beauty on Dec. 24, 2013 from Paul Sherry Chevrolet in Piqua, OH. They are the third owners of this car. His favorite memory is bringing it home Christmas Eve and surprising his wife. He put a bow on it and took her to the barn and said, “Merry Christmas, honey.” Crouch says he’s always owned a Vette throughout the years, and this is the last one.
