12 UNOH students to intern at Super Bowl LVI

LIMA — Twelve sport marketing students from the University of Northwestern Ohio will intern for the Super Bowl Experience, an interactive theme park in Los Angeles opening ahead of Super Bowl LVI.

The ticketed event, which is expected to attract upward of 1 million visitors in February, offers youth football clinics, merchandise shops, autograph sessions and interactive games as the city of Los Angeles prepares to host Super Bowl LVI.

According to a press release, the students will leave for Los Angeles on Feb. 8, and they will assist with hospitality events outside the stadium on Super Bowl Sunday before returning to Lima on Feb. 15.

UNOH professors Julia Etzkorn and Phil Gunder will travel with the students.

“I want them to see what goes into executing a hug event like this, to be able to experience it first-hand and gain experience on a large-scale setting like the Super Bowl,” Etzkorn stated in the press release. “The best part is that they will be able to make connections here that could help them obtain jobs within the sports industry when they graduate.”

Participating students include: Anabel Buss, of Berlin, Germany; Gage Chiles, of Van Wert; Ally Cumming, of Alvinston, Ontario; Sabrina Fricke, of Orsoy, Germany; Haleigh Gray, of Noblesville, Ind.; Carlie Hanes, of Antwerp; Mackenzy Kendel, of Eaton; Alyssa Murray, of Novi Michigan; Dustyn Rivera, of Bayville, New Jersey; Agnes Stefansdottir, of Grenivik, Iceland; Jeremy Suarez, of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico; and Ryan Wickline, of Wapakoneta.
