GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Starting July 20, Meijer will require shoppers at all its stores to wear facemasks, the Walker-based retailer announced Friday.
Meijer on July 11 announced that, in response to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s executive order, it would require all shoppers at its Michigan stores and gas stations to wear masks.
Friday’s announcement applies to all Meijer stores and gas station’s in the company’s six-state footprint: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Wisconsin. Meijer has more than 240 locations.
The company says customers are required to wear masks unless they “have medical conditions that prevent them from wearing face coverings.”
“We encourage customers to consider using Meijer Home Delivery or Curbside pick-up as alternative options for their shopping needs,” the company said.
