CANTON — A woman told police she was heading to the store about 1:30 a.m. Saturday from her home in the 700 block of Fourth Street NE when a northeast Canton man assaulted her.
Stark County Jail records show police used a chemical agent to arrest Kolbi A. Ross, 22, of Canton, after he also became forceful with them.
According to the jail records, the woman was leaving her home when he approached her, struck her several times and then tried to take her car. As she tried to remove the keys from the ignition, he sped away as she was still hanging from the passenger door.
At some point, she let go and he continued driving, leaving her on the pavement with injuries to her hands and legs.
Officers caught and arrested Ross at 1:40 a.m. Saturday.
Ross was booked into the jail on charges of burglary, robbery, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
He remained in the jail Saturday, held in lieu of $100,750 bond.
The woman’s condition was not available Saturday.
