AKRON — A 28-year-old man reported that he was pistol-whipped during an attempted robbery shortly before noon Monday near Brownstone and East Tallmadge avenues in Akron, police said.
The man said he was walking near the intersection when another man armed with a handgun came up to him and demanded his wallet.
The man refused and was then pistol-whipped, police said.
The man reported his attacker ran away without getting anything. Police did not offer a description of the man who was pistol-whipped or a detailed description of his reported attacker.
The man had minor injuries over his right eye and took himself to an unnamed hospital to be treated, police said.
