AKRON — Police, working with a good Samaritan who had a tractor, rescued an elderly dog Saturday morning that was stuck in a ravine near Akron, police said.
According to police, the incident happened about 9 a.m. in the 3300 block of Hood Road near where the Rocky River snakes its way through central Medina County.
A pit bull there had wandered into ravine that’s about 100 feet deep and couldn’t get itself out.
Police spotted a neighbor using a farm tractor and asked if he could help.
It’s not clear how the good Samaritan and the police used the tractor to rescue the dog. But police said they worked together and retrieved the dog, unharmed, and drove it home.
