Cupp helps pass drainage efficiency bill

LIMA — The Ohio House of Representatives passed a bill today, June 9, that revises Ohio’s water drainage laws.

Sponsored by State Rep. Bob Cupp, R-Lima, the bill updates outdated language, increases the minimum size of buffer strips from four to 10 feet, authorizes the use of new surveying technology and updates Ohio law to increase drainage efficiency, among others, according to a press release detailing the bill’s passage.

“I’m confident this bill will modernize the petition drainage system by embracing the use of modern technology, clarifying Ohio statues to increase efficiency and reducing unnecessary legal costs for affected landowners,” Cupp said.
