WAPAKONETA — Voters in the Wapakoneta school district defeaeted a levy that would’ve enhanced security at the district’s buildings and pay for training.
With all precincts and absentee votes counted, 57 percent of voters cast their ballots against the request for $400,000 a year. It would’ve been a five-year, 1 mill additional levy.
The levy got off to a rough start in Tuesday’s counting, with 64 percent of absentee votes being cast against the issue.
