LIMA —A two vehicle head-on crash Monday evening in western Allen County resulted in four people being injured.
The incident happened just after 6 p.m. at Elida Road and Redd Road. An automated notice from the Allen County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management was sent at 6:15 p.m. saying that Elida Road would be closed for at least an hour.
According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, a westbound vehicle was attempting to pass a slower car and struck an eastbound vehicle head-on.
Both the driver and passenger of the westbound vehicle and a passenger in the eastbound vehicle were taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was taken to the hospital by a friend.
The descriptions of the vehicles and the names of those involved have not yet been released.
