Naumann, Schomaeker take top honors at Heartlight Pharmacy Open


LIMA - Parker Schomaeker took top honors in the 16-18 boys year-old division and Ellen Naumann garnered first in the 16-18 girls division in the Lima Junior Golf Association Heartlight Pharmacy Open at The Oaks Golf Club Tuesday.

Schomaeker shot a 73 on the par 72 course to win the tournament. Adam Ballas finished second with a 76 followed by Justin Altenbach and Hunter Joliff tied for third with identical 77s.

Naumann, who fired a 77 along with Grace Miller, was awarded the win after a scorecard playoff. Emma Mayers and Bridget Mulcahy rounded out the top finishers with 78s.

Brevin Brandt was the medalist in the boys 12-13 bracket after shooting a 36 on the nine hole event. Keaton Foster was second with a 41 and Sullivan Hastings shot a 43 to snare third.

In the boys 14-15 year old division, Parky Judy was first after posting a 72. Collin Feathers and JJ Meyers each shot an 82 but Feathers took second on a scorecard playoff. Troy Watson was third with an 85.

In a field of four golfers, Jordan Hemmelgarn captured first with a 50 in the girls 15 and under category. Kasey Nelson was second with a 51 and Kallie Mckinley rounded out the top finishers with a 57.

Damo Watson was first in the Pee Wee (11 and under) division after shooting a 32. Treg Meyer was second with a 39 and Calvin Byrum tied for third place honors after both posted 44s.
