COLUMBUS GROVE — High-end clothing, accessories and shoes are being offered with online sales that began recently for Columbus Grove’s new women’s business, Bloom Boutique.

The business at 109 W. Sycamore St. in downtown Columbus Grove, next to The Rowdy Rooster, was originally scheduled to open for in-person sales recently. That was put on hold due to Gov. Mike DeWine’s mandate of essential businesses only being open during COVID-19, according to Mara Grothaus, the owner and Columbus Grove resident.

She is married to Caleb, who has helped her with paint renovations. They have a son, Kane, 1 1/2, and a baby on the way in July. She is a 2013 Fort Jennings High School graduate and earned a nursing degree from Bowling Green State University in 2017.

“My mom, Tressa, and I used to go shopping together, and my great aunt Leslie Hunt owns a boutique, Leslie Jane, in Zionsville, Indiana, and she inspired me to open a boutique here,” Grothaus said.

Bloom Boutique offers unique clothing that a lot of stores don’t sell, Grothaus said. The business sells spring blouses, jean jackets, T-shirts and tank tops, as well as shorts, dresses, skirts, pants and shorts. Sizes are small to large, and plus sizes also are available.

Candles also are available as well as earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Shoes such as tennis shoes, dress flats and heels are available for sale.

“My goal is to get a locally made section. I know a lot of people who make clothing and jewelry and thought that would be fun to have,” Grothaus said.

People can visit thebloomboutique.com for online orders, or visit its Facebook page at facebook.com/theblmboutique.
