LIMA — Another Casey’s General Store gas station is coming to the Lima area.

Casey’s plans to build a 4,000-square-foot convenience store at 4411 Elida Road, on the corner of Baty and Elida Road.

Construction is expected to begin by June 1, with the store’s grand opening slated for sometime around Oct. 1, according to Mike Richardson, vice president of marketing for Casey’s General Stores.

This is now the second Casey’s location for the Lima area.

In February, Casey’s opened a 4,800-square-foot convenience store and 16-pump gas station at 2800 Shawnee Road. The Elida Road location will be smaller, featuring six fuel pumping stations and a 4,000-square-foot convenience store. But Richardson said both locations will have the same offerings.

Casey’s also opened a store in Cridersville, this one on Dixie Highway, and also has locations in smaller communities in the region.

Casey’s is most well-known for its pizza. In fact, the Fortune 500 company claims to be the fifth largest pizza chain and fourth largest convenience store chain in the U.S., with 2,100 convenience stores and gas stations locations across the Midwest and South.
