LIMA — Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center made IBM Watson Health’s list of 100 top-performing hospitals in the United States.
The honor considered survival rates, complications and infections, length of stay, emergency department wait times, inpatient expenses, profit margins and patient satisfaction.
This is the second consecutive year the Lima hospital made IBM Watson Health’s list of top hospitals.
“Mercy Health-St. Rita’s is focused on providing top care to our patients,” Bob Baxter, president of Mercy Health-Toledo and Lima, said in a press release. “This recognition once again solidifies our ongoing commitment to our community and to the Mercy Health mission. The 100 Top Hospitals designation is an affirmation of the dedication of our doctors, nurses and staff to providing our community with easy access to safe, effective, timely and cost-efficient care.”
Ronda Lehman, Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center interim president, added, “Earning a place for the second consecutive year on the Top 100 Hospitals list is a tribute to our St. Rita’s team. Combining quality and compassion is what St. Rita’s has been known for throughout our more than 100-year history, and it remains our commitment to our community in the years to come.”
