LIMA — The Lima Central Catholic girls tennis narrowly won Saturday’s Lima City Tournament.

The Thunderbirds finished with 29 points followed by Shawnee (28), Van Wert (24), Ottawa-Glandorf (21), Bluffton (17), Elida (15) and Lima Senior (8).

LCC’s Olivia Kesner won the A Singles division and teammate Morgan Chaney was the B Singles champ. Ottawa-Glandorf’s Emma Schmiedebusch was the C Singles champ.

Shawnee’s Katie Clark and Sanjana Rajasekaran claimed the A Doubles title, and Van Wert’s Jada Buckner and Lizzie Rutkowski were B Doubles winners.

Golf

Allen East tourney

LIMA — Spencerville and Lima Central Catholic were the boys and girls team champs respectively at Springbrook Golf Club.

Medalist Ethan Harmon (69), Gavin Harmon (77), Drake Mertz (80) and Alex Gallman (81) combined for the Bearcats’ winning score of 307. Lincolnview and Coldwater tied for second at 334 each with Delphos St. John’s (347) and Miller City (352) rounding out the top five in nine-team tourney.

Allen East’s Nick Phillips (86), Botkins’ Nick Fischio (76), Coldwater’s Carson Muhlenkamp (76), Adam Gerker and Grant Csukker (83 each) of Delphos St. John’s, Kalida’s Tyler Unverferth (85), Lincolnview’s Ryan Moody (73) and Miller City’s Luke Lammers (80) had the low rounds for their respective teams. Temple Christian’s Lincoln Waters shot an 85 playing as an individual.

Medalist Erin Mulcahy (70), Meghan Mulcahy (79), Mary Kelly Mulcahy (79) and Hannah Garver and Emma Mayers (94 each) contributed to LCC’s winning score of 322 with North Baltimore (429), LCC junior varsity (474), Delphos St. John’s 486 and Wooster (505) rounding out the top five in the seven-team field.

Emma Shafer (105) of Delphos St. John’s, Kenton’s Anna Longbrake (113) and LCC JV player Carlie VanMeter (109) had the low rounds for their respective squads. Kasey Meyer’s 101 was the low round among the three Allen East players competing as individuals.

Volleyball

O-G wins tourney

COLDWATER — Ottawa-Glandorf won the Cavalier Spikeoff by going 3-0, Versailles, St. Henry and New Knoxville each went 2-1, Coldwater, Fort Loramie and Miami East went 1-2 and St. Marys finished 0-3.

On the day, Taylor Alt had 32 kills and 41 digs, Erica Arnesser had 30 kills, Claire Eden had 35 digs and Brianna Schimmoeller had 41 assists.

Ada sweeps

RAWSON — Ada defeated Waynesfield-Goshen 25-2, 25-11 and Cory-Rawson 25-27, 29-27, 25-4.

On the day, Sidney Gossard had 30 assists, 19 digs and 18 aces, Megan Light had 20 kills and Morgan Swick had 13 digs.

Bluffton 3,

North Baltimore 1

BLUFFTON — The host Pirates won 24-26, 26-24, 25-12, 25-11. Kylie Stackhouse had 12 kills, Ameri Siferd had 20 assists, 11 kills and four aces, Skyler Scoles had 18 assists and four aces and Katie Prater had 29 digs for Bluffton.

Temple Christian

splits matches

Temple Christian fell 25-21, 18-25, 25-22 to Calvary Christian and defeated Monclova Christian 25-13, 25-9.

On the day, Sophia White had 22 digs, Anna Acklin had 34 assists and Lizzie Helser had 15 kills for Temple Christian.

Wapak falls twice

SIDNEY — Wapakoneta lost 25-16, 25-21, 25-21 to Indian Lake and 25-20, 25-13 to Sidney.

On the day, Makenzie Wilson had 15 kills, Renaie Schulze had 18 assists and Alex Winget had 27 digs for Wapak.

Marion Local 3, Celina 0

Marion Local won 25-13, 25-9, 25-16.

Boys soccer

Wapakoneta 5, LCC 1

Kyle Lenhart had three goals, Hunter Coffey had two and Trey Horstman scored one.

Lima Senior 2, Mansfield Senior 0

Noah Phillips and Cole Mericle each had a goal.

Ottoville 5, Spencerville 0

Brice Shroeder had two goals and Carson Stoner, Dalton Davis and Nolan German had one each.

St. Marys 2, Bluffton 2

Bluffton’s Jonathon Schriner and Jesse Montel and St. Marys’ Ethan Rose and Noah Vogel each scored a goal. Luke Young had two assists for Bluffton.

Bryan 15, Paulding 1

Kolya Paschall had Paulding’s goal.

Girls soccer

Shawnee 6, Lake 1

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Sophia Fusillo had two goals and Rachel Russ, Brianna Snider, Kennedy Jensen and Tessa Jordan each had one for the host Indians. Grace O’Connor had five saves for Shawnee.

LCC 8, Ottoville 1

OTTOVILLE — Avery Rice and Jessica Wilker had three goals each and Sophia Luchini and Sophia Santaguida converted one each for LCC. Kasey Knippen had Ottoville’s goal.

Bluffton 1, Spencerville 1

Bluffton’s Rebekah Hoff and Spencerville’s Nelaya Burden each had a goal and Kayla White (Bluffton) and Raigan Staup (Spencerville) each had an assist. Bluffton’s Riley Busch had 12 saves.

Miller City 6, Paulding 1

MILLER CITY — Abby Niese had three goals and Tava Schroeder, Lexi Heuerman and Madison Ellerbrock had one each for the hosts. Morgan Iler had Paulding’s score.

Ada 2, Indian Lake 1

Chris Reyes and Jacob Poling each had a goal for Ada. Reyes also had an assist and teammate Drew Hadley had 11 saves.

Archbold 2, Kalida 0

ARCHBOLD — Bailey White had 10 saves for Kalida.

Wapak competes

at OHSAA meet

COLUMBUS — The Wapakoneta teams participated in the OHSAA Pre-Season meet.

The girls placed third out of 14 team field. Paige Schneider paced the girls with a second-place finish in the girls Division I & II Open race followed by teammates Lauren Doll in eighth and Mackenzie Courter in 12th.

The boys team placed fifth out of 11 teams with Isaac Webb winning the Boys Division I & II open race followed by teammates John Doll in 18th and Nate Metzger in 23rd.
