CELINA — For the past several months Versa Pak, a plastic manufacturing company, has been working hard to complete the warehouse addition and is expected to finish by July.
The current facility at 500 Staeger Road has a 36,000-square-foot warehouse with 74,000 square feet of manufacturing space. By the end of the project, the facility will have an additional 34,000-square-foot warehouse, according to a news release.
“Our latest addition allows us to continue to add more lines and support more products for our customers,” Versa Pak President Michael Brunswick said in a news release.
Versa Pak is a manufacturer of versatile plastic packaging for food and other consumer industries and has the No. 1 reputation for top quality products and customer service, according to its website.
The new warehouse is expected to be completed shortly after the operation of the new 5-Layer Co-Ex Line technology that will help the company with expanded properties and qualities in the plastic film production.
The 5-Layer Co-Ex Line will replace the company’s current 3-layer Co-Extrusion Line. This will put distributors in a better position for what end-users want now and into the future, according to a news release.
In addition to the warehouse expansion, the company has added four new silos to bring the total to 28 for resin supply as a way to support its continued growth.
This is not the first expansion that the company has undertaken. There have been a total of six expansion projects over the past 10 years. The facility has expanded from 25,000 total square feet to more than 110,000 square feet.
The company was founded in 1986 as Versa Pak Inc., but over the years ownership was switched and expanded into Versa Pak, LTD. The company moved into the newer facility on Staeger Road due to continued growth.
“It’s been an exciting time for us as we continue to grow and provide new products and innovations for distributors,” said Sales Manager Jeff Knapke in a news release.
