LIMA — Anheuser-Busch Wholly Owned Distributor recently announced it will expand the Lima facility to better accommodate its employees and provide more space for products and equipment.
The expansion was prompted by a wholesaler equity agreement which dictates the proper storage for products. The expansion was needed to ensure the company was 100 percent compliant with the agreement, according to Emily Briem-Brandehoff, People Business Partner, Anheuser-Busch, Lima.
The 71-year-old facility has 65 employees and distributes approximately 3 million cases yearly of Bud Light, Budweiser, Bud Ice, Goose Island, Shock Top, Natural Light, Stella Artois and Busch.
The facility on 43535 St. Johns Road will be expanded by 14,000 square feet to provide space for a bigger warehouse, improve office spaces, a locker room, break room, two additional dock bays and a keg vault. The project is expected to be complete by about February 2019.
“By increasing the umber of dock bays, we will be able to operate more efficiently,” Briem-Brandehoff said. “Also by doubling the storage, we will be able to carry more of a variety of SKUs.”
