Sept. 23
Jason T. Alford, 21, Orient Correctional Center, was sentenced to 14 months in prison for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. He was given credit for 30 days served. The sentence was ordered served concurrently to a sentence issued in Wyandot County. Any evidence seized by the state was ordered to be destroyed. A charge of criminal tools was dismissed. He was also registered as a Tier One sex offender.
According to court records, Alford engaged in sexual conduct with a “Jane Doe,” a person not his spouse born in 2009 between Sept. 1, 2023, through Jan. 29, 2024, in Putnam County. He also used a light blue Hyundai Sedan in the commission of the offense.
Linda M. Remlinger, Kalida, and Keith C. Remlinger, Kalida, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married Oct. 8, 1978 in Kalida and have no minor children.
Sept. 24
Joshua O. Smith, 21, Kalamazoo, Mich., pleaded guilty to illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material. He faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. He also pleaded guilty to sexual conduct with an animal. He faces up to 90 days in jail and $750 in fines on that charge. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 1 p.m. Oct. 28. A count of possessing criminal tools was dismissed.
According to court records, Smith possessed or viewed material or performance that shows a minor who was not his child in a state of nudity on Feb. 16. He possessed images/pictures that show a minor not his child in a state of nudity while at 1350 N. Locust Street, Apt. 214, in Ottawa. Smith possessed a device with the purpose to use it in the commission of a felony, a cell phone on Feb. 16. In addition, on Oct. 9, 2023, Smith was accused of knowingly engaging in sexual conduct with a dog while in Ottawa.
Gregory Port, 66, Darbydale, pleaded guilty to theft. He faces between eight and 12 years in prison and $15,000 in fines. The state is requesting restitution of $936,747.02. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11 a.m. Nov. 21. According to court records, the charge involves a time period of March 13 through April 23 in Putnam County. Port is accused of stealing from the estate of Robert Kahle in the amount of $936,747.02.
Sept. 25
Genevieve Hernandez, Leipsic, and Daniel Herndandez, Leipsic, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married Aug. 18, 2012 in Columbus Grove and have three children.
Sept. 26
Elyssa M. Gutierrez, 23, Columbus Grove,was remanded to the WORTH Center for aggravated possession of drugs. She was placed on five years community control, must obtain and maintain
employment, obtain a GED and not use any medications without a valid prescription and knowledge of the probation officer.
Broc L. Baughman, 34, Madison Correctional, was granted judicial release and placed on five years community control. He was ordered to obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all treatment recommended and have no contact with any of the alleged victims in this case. He must pay restitution of $1,300 to the Drug Task Force. He was originally convicted of aggravated trafficking in drugs.

Sept. 16
Camila S. Suneir, 25, Findlay, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license.
Sept. 23
Jennifer M. Miller, 42, Leipsic, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of physical control. Sentence: 180 days jail, 177 days suspended, $375 fine, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. A charge of OVI was dismissed.
Fednel Lebrun, 23, Lima, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license and $50 for tail lights.
Juan C. Santis, 26, McComb, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license and $50 for restriction on obscuring vision.
Sept. 24
Andrew J. Vasquez, 34, Lima, pleaded guilty to domestic violence. Sentence: 180 days jail, 140 days suspended, and $100 fine and complete an assessment at Pathways Counseling. He also pleaded guilty to assault. Sentence: 180 days jail, suspended, and $100 fine with sentence to be served consecutively. Charges of felony assault and resisting arrest were dismissed.
Zain M. Hile, 21, Elida, was fined $150 for driving while texting.
