OVI checkpoint set on Celina Road in Auglaize County

WAPAKONETA — The Ohio State Highway Patrol will have an OVI checkpoint from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today on Celina Road in Auglaize County.

The checkpoints, funded by federal grants, aim to deter and intercept impaired drivers. They’re held alongside nearby “saturation patrols” to combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes.

People planning to drink alcohol are urged to designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before drinking.
