Putnam County Common Pleas Court

The following individuals were indicted by the Putnam County Grand Jury on May 17.

Tina M. Candia, 54, Ottawa; domestic violence.

Jeremy J. Detwiler, 31, Cloverdale; tampering with evidence, aggravated possession of drugs, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving under license restriction, and resisting arrest.

Jose E. Garcia, 37, Ottawa; domestic violence.

Kayla A. Price, 33, Onsted, Mich.; aggravated possession of drugs, identity fraud, possession of cocaine, failure to appear by recognizance.

Felipe Martinez, 19, Leipsic; improperly handling firearms in motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle or agricultural tractor without being in control of it.

Jesse J. Miranda, 18, Leipsic; improperly handling firearms in motor vehicle.

Summer Poland, 24, Holgate; tampering with records.

Gregory L. Lugibihl Jr., 55, Gilboa; two counts aggravated possession of drugs.

Matthias A. Vogt, 26, Lima; aggravated possession of drugs.

Derek R. Butcher, 40, Bluffton; felonious assault.

May 16

Larry D. Barton, 53, Paulding, was sentenced to nine months in the Putnam County Jail for violating community control standards. The violations included failing to complete the WORTH Center program. He was placed on five years community control and given credit for 85 days served. He may be referred to the WORTH Center program. He was originally charged with breaking and entering.

May 18

Alec C. Fortman, 25, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to failure to comply with order or signal of police officer. He faces up to 36 months in prison and $10,000 in fines. He also pleaded guilty to OVI. He faces up to six months in jail and $1,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 9 a.m. July 6. The state offered no objection to defendant going to the WORTH Center or a similar facility. Charges of operating a vehicle under the influence and obstructing official business were dismissed.

Jeremy J. Knoll, 47, Leipsic, was sentenced to 180 days in jail for domestic violence. He was placed on five years community control and must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment recommended. He is also to have no contact with the victim. He was also placed on five years community control on a charge of burglary. A motion was approved to release property held as evidence – a 9 mm handgun and two .22 caliber rifles – seized from Knoll on Oct. 3, 2022 by a sheriff’s officer. The evidence was ordered to be released to his brother Joshua Knoll.

Premier Bank, Youngstown, was granted a foreclosure against Bobbi J. Griffith, North Baltimore, in the amount of $37,370.75, plus interest and costs.

Putnam County Municipal Court dispositions

May 15

Jason Sproul, 49, Continental, was fined $150 for driving under suspension child support.

May 16

Anthony J. Steinbregge, 23, Columbus Grove, pleaded no contest to driving under suspension license forfeiture and was found guilty. Sentence: $250 fine.

Krystal L. Oehler, 41, Wapakoneta, pleaded guilty to failure to reinstate license. Sentence: $250 fine. She was also fined $50 for right-of-way stop sign.

May 18

Haley S. Mekus, 26, Lima, pleaded no contest to telephone harassment and was found guilty. Sentence: 180 days jail, suspended, $150 fine, complete a mental health assessment and have no contact with victim unless approved by the court.

Billy J. Hale, 43, Dupont, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension. Sentence: 30 days jail, $250 fine, suspended, A charge of license plates was dismissed.
