Morningstar to record live album at Wapak venue

WAPAKONETA—A rising country musician is headed to Wapakoneta for a special two-night event.

Josh Morningstar picked Route 33 Rhythm and Brews to record an upcoming live album because he appreciated the atmosphere when he performed there before.

“I’ve actually been to that venue and Wapakoneta quite a few times and it’s always a really good time,” Morningstar said. “It’s a cool venue where the crowd seems to come specifically to listen to the show and I’m just looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.”

Morningstar, who is also a songwriter with numerous credits to his name, said that he will be performing his set two nights in a row Saturday and Sunday to get the best takes for the release.

“We figure it’s better to have more to work with than not enough,” he said. “So that’s why we’re doing two nights, just to make sure that if something doesn’t go right on the first night, hopefully, it will on the second.”

On his website, Morningstar, who is from Funkstown, Maryland, says that he has shared the stage with artists including Shooter Jennings, Cody Jinks and Tyler Childers.

Morningstar has credits writing for Hayes Carll, Jinks and Kendell Marvel.

Morningstar was also named the 2018 Texas Radio Songwriter of the Year.

The first show at Route 33 Rhythm and Brews will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday and the second will be at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
