The heavy rains seem to be pushing the roses into full bloom this week.
Rose: To area law enforcement, for tracking down a suspect in five bank robberies. They arrested Gage Daniel Shafer Haws, 28, in connection with the robberies of banks in Arlington, Bettsville, Delta, Kalida and McCutchenville.
Rose: To St. Rose Catholic School eighth-grader Dominic McKee, who won the 34th annual Allen County spelling bee last weekend.
Thorn: To Daquan Burse, 24, who will spend 10 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of drug-related charges.
Rose: To George Case, who will serve as grand marshal of this year’s Irish Day Parade.
