Teens For Christ reportedly terminates two employees

LIMA — Teens for Christ has reportedly terminated two employees who were placed on administrative leave in July, according to a brief letter sent to donors Friday.

The letter did not name which employees were terminated, and board members did not immediately return a call from The Lima News to confirm the terminations Friday afternoon.

“As we begin the New Year, we write to inform you that the Teens For Christ Board has voted unanimously to terminate the employment of the two individuals previously put on administrative leave,” according to the letter from the board. “We realize that GOD called them into this ministry and through them accomplished much for HIS kingdom.

“Our primary goal — our heart’s desire — HAS BEEN and CONTINUES to be ‘turning teenagers into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ.’ Through much discussion and prayer, it is apparent to us new leadership is best to continue what GOD has been doing through this ministry.”

The letter was signed by the TFC board, though board members did not sign their names individually.

A November newsletter from TFC said the board of directors would start looking for a new ministry director for the Lima region in 2023, as the ministry intends to relaunch its local chapters next year.
