Adopt A Stocking: Mother of 4 fights chronic kidney disease

LIMA — One young mother is facing hardship after discovering she has stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease. Hannah said the condition is heriditary. Earlier this year, her father passed away due to having a similiar condition.

Although Hannah is able to work part time, she has four children to care for.

Hannah learned she had the disease after being hospitalized following an allergic reaction. While admitted, physicians discovered something more. A biopsy determined that Hannah did in fact have chronic kidney disease. Hannah is not currently receiving dialysis, she is hoping to get on the list to become a receipient for a new kidney.

“I feel fine sometimes and sometimes I cannot walk up the stairs or pick things up,” said Hannah. “If you go to stand up then all of the sudden lose your breathe that is how it feels when I stand up.”

Even through trying times, Hannah simply hopes that her family has a Merry Christmas.

Like most young children, Hannah’s sons and daughters love to play. She has a 10 year old daughter named Grace and an eight year old daughter named Ruth.

As Grace becomes older, she wants LED lights for her room and rainbow high dolls. Hannah’s daughter, Ruth, loves to play with slime kits and hopes for a tablet. Ruth also loves LOL dolls.

Hannah’s son Darius is 6 years old. He has a new love for Sonic and hopes for games to play with for Christmas. Hannah did not expect to have more children but she decided she wanted another boy.

“I thought, I want another boy and it all worked out,” added Hannah. Her four year old son, Benjamin, hopes for a new bike for Christmas.

“If there are people in worst positions give to them because I would never want to take from someone else,” said Hannah.

Hannah hopes for nothing but to see her children happy on Christmas Day and the days to come.
