Adopt A Stocking: Mother with Spina Bifida hopes for Christmas

LIMA — Ongoing medical conditions often prohibit families from fulfilling basic needs. Elizabeth is a young mother who was born with scoliosis and spina bifida. She has rods and plates in her back and a plate and screw in her ankle. In addition, she is prone to seizures. Due to her medical condition, she is unable to work.

“The last surgery I had was when I was 10,” said Elizabeth. “It is like every other week I can barely move.”

Elizabeth hopes that her children will have a great Christmas but she is unable to do it on her own.

Her oldest son, Joseph, is 13 years old. Joseph loves electronics. He hopes for AirPod headphones and a Viper gaming headset. His favorite games are Call of Duty: Warzone and Batman: Arkham Knight for PS4. He also loves Nerf guns, Pokemon cards and black crocs. He wears a size XXL in shirts and XL in sweatpants.

He also enjoys accessorizing with watches and jewelry.

Elizabeth has another son named Zechariah who is eight years old. Zechariah hopes for a tablet and headphones this Christmas. He loves Ninja Turtles and dressing up as a police officer. Much like his brother he loves Pokemon cards and Nerf guns. He wears a size 12 in pants or large in socks. He wears an XL in children’s clothes. He wears a size 4 in shoes and medium for blue crocs. Zechariah also enjoys coloring.

Elizabeth also has a seven-year-old daughter named Sarah. She loves to play with baby dolls. She enjoys L.O.L. dolls and stuffed animals. She also hopes for Barbie dolls and furry pink crocs. She wears a size 4 in shoes. In pants, she wears a size nine.

Finally, Elizabeth has a one-year-old daughter named Rebecca. She loves Cocomelon and baby dolls. Rebecca hopes to have a stroller and a LeapFrog tablet. As she continues to grow, she is in need of a potty chair. She wears a size 7 in diapers and 4T in pull-ups. Rebecca also wears a size 4T/5T in clothes.

The children also hope for 20-inch bikes, a skateboard or a hoverboard.

Elizabeth is in need of a winter coat size 3x. In clothes, Elizabeth wears a size 4x. She hopes for shampoo, conditioner and towels.

“Another year with my family is all that matters,” added Elizabeth.
