Bath grad Andrews joins University of Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame

Bath graduate Jim Andrews was among those inducted into the University of Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022 this past weekend.

Before heading to Kentucky, the 6-foot-11 Andrews scored 33 points a game for the Western Buckeye League champion Wildcats as a senior in 1968-69, his only season at Bath.

He led UK, averaging 20.1 points and 12.4 rebounds as a senior and 21.5 points and 11.3 boards as a junior, earning first team All-Southeastern Conference and NCAA All-Mideast Regional Team recognition both seasons.

Kentucky won three SEC championships and twice advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight the three seasons he was on the varsity in an era when freshmen were ineligible.

His 43 double-doubles rank third in UK history. He is the last Wildcat to average 20 or more points and 10 or more rebounds during two seasons (Dan Issel, Cotton Nash and Cliff Hagan are the only other Wildcats to accomplish that feat).

He went on to play for the Indiana Pacers and in Italy and Sweden.
