GOP announces rally speaker

LIMA — Republican Chairman Keith Cheney has announced that U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) will be the keynote speaker for the BBQ rally. In addition to Graham, U.S. Senate Candidate JD Vance (R) and U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) will be in attendance.

Graham has served in the military and now serves in the U.S. Congress.

“Not only has he served our nation for 33 years in the military,” said Cheney. “His accomplishments in Washington D.C. of conservative values and the things that matter most to Americans, he is at the forefront fighting every day. It is very important that Lindsey returns to Allen County.”

The annual BBQ rally will be held on Oct. 25 at the UNOH Event Center. The night will be focused on the Republican candidates in preparation for the coming election on Nov. 8. Vance will be running against U.S. Congressman Tim Ryan (D). Jordan will be running against Tamie Wilson (D).

Due to the pandemic, the Republican party has not held the dinner in a few years. Cheney is excited to host the Republican Party and come together again.

“We are in a post-COVID era,” added Cheney. “The last few years have been a little tough across the nation. We are very fortunate that our healthcare workers have made some great strides. The good Lord has been good to us and once again we can hold our immense BBQ rally. We have had a lot of Republicans contact us wanting to know who the speaker is and excited to come. It will just be a great evening to be able to gather as a group.”

Doors to the rally will open at 5:45 p.m. The event will begin at 6:15 p.m. Any Republican Central & Executive Committee member is available for community members to purchase tickets. Tickets will be sold for $25 and can be picked up at the Republican Victory Center. The center is located at 2161 Elida Rd.
